The song of pretty girls
This song is actually titled "Wake up" by Sarah Slean; it's a lullabye, which somehow Sarah, managed to convince the entire Bellevillian audience to participate in during her show here. The song itself doesn't particularly have much to do with pretty girls I've known, in fact I'm still not really sure what it's about. The song, although quite nice, isn't magnificient enough to warrant mentioning in itself; it is however, like many other things, tied to many good memories. This song now draws back a few innocent, but wonderful memories; that rare type of memory which I hope to hold onto forever. A voice beside me in the darkness, a cold rainy day becoming bright with a warm cup of tea shared at a kitchen table, a letter arriving from an old soul, a long drive to the lake; over the last few weeks these rare moments of pleasure in an otherwise dreary world have one by one attached themselves to this song. I doubt that if you listen to this song you'll get half the feeling from it that I do from a single note; but then again I'm sure you have songs of your own which I will ever know.
Cheers,
Wake up
Wake up
You don’t want to sleep through this
Night has fallen and all the stars are coming out
O the sky’s a lullaby
Like
That sweet little light of mine
Come out come out
It’s not like we’re strangers here
No more lying here waiting, the sun’s coming up
O that hole made of gold is
Like
That sweet little light of mine
Cheers,
Wake up
Wake up
You don’t want to sleep through this
Night has fallen and all the stars are coming out
O the sky’s a lullaby
Like
That sweet little light of mine
Come out come out
It’s not like we’re strangers here
No more lying here waiting, the sun’s coming up
O that hole made of gold is
Like
That sweet little light of mine
